   <\/span>It is a tan wood with reddish-brown lines that create unusual patterns in some sets, much like cocobolo. This is a lighter-weight type of rosewood. Guitars with back and sides made of palo escrito are known for a sweet high end and good punch. Palo Escrito is a relatively light rosewood with the tone and easy workability comparable to Indian Rosewood.  It shows attractive shades of red and golden brown, and is often figured.  Palo Escrito is considered a premier tonewood in Mexico due to its even yet lively tone, with good bass and treble separation. It has a wider grain and more figure than Indian Rosewood and is lighter in color and on the red side, lighter weight.   <\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
