Carpathian Spruce Tops
Botanical Name: picea abies
The quality of the sound produced from these tops is incredible. The Carpathian spruce is fast becoming a favorite wood to use for Luthiers and instrument makers alike. This wood is often compared to Adirondack Spruce, Red Spruce, and German Spruce; but it still possesses the best tonal quality. Very stiff with great tap tone.
